About the hoarder

I have a problem, I am a hoarder. Well, it’s not like I’m one of those tv-show shocker hoarders, but I have way too much stuff, and I cannot get rid of anything. Well, I cannot get rid of anything I felt joy while buying, which is quite a bit of stuff. I have an emotional bond to stuff, which means I cannot throw anything away, because it would mean throwing away the memories. This is probably not healthy, but so far my hoarding hasn’t broken the “it has affected my life negatively”-barrier.

Kind of ironically I am an economist. Having studied marginal utilization, I should be able to get rid of the stuff that gives me close to zero or even negative marginal utilization, but I just haven’t so far. I am starting this journey to clean up my life, and to make a permanent change. Maybe I can even get my wife to join in.

No more hoarding, it is time for a tidier life.

  1. Howdy! When I tried to sign up by email, I was asked to open a windows live account. I would rather not. Please add me to your email updates. Thanks.
